  • Very slow — 26mph
  • You'll get bored with the local scenery

  • Heated clothing required in winter

  • No running with 65 lbs on your back!
  • Can carry a heavier motor
  • Can carry a heavier pilot
  • Can carry more fuel (up to 5 gal.)
  • Slightly more difficult to launch
    (it's harder to adjust direction when the wind shifts)
  • The expense of the trike
  • Less transportable because of the trike
  • Many fewer places to get trained
