Welcome to Flying Club 1 in Northern Virginia
We're Looking for an Airplane
OUR VISION
We want to get more pilots into aviation by lowering the barriers to entry.
With 40 years' experience flying light aircraft, we know how to fly both safely and inexpensively. We want to share that with new pilots.
As a non-profit flying club flying inexpensive airplanes, we think new members will be able to get a Sport Pilot license for less than $4,000.
We have the experience, the corporate structure, and the professionalism to maintain the plane and to manage the training of new members.
OUR NEED
We're looking for a 2-seat airplane in which new pilots can get trained – something like a Flightstar II, a Rans S-12, or a Challenger II – preferably with a 4-cycle Rotax 912 or HKS engine.
OUR REQUEST
Do you have such a plane you could donate? It will have a good life bringing more people into aviation.
Do you have a plane or project that we could sell to raise money for the plane we need?
Do you or your family have a car you no longer need that we could sell to raise money?
At 50 members or so, we are the center for powered light flying in Northern Virginia, USA. If you are new to
light flying, this is the place to see real aircraft and talk to live people. If you're
an old hand, this is the place to share your experience and get local information.
We have regular monthly meetings year-round at the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport.
Check the Events page to see exactly when. Visitors are always welcome.
Come to Our Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be our pot-luck Holiday Party at the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport terminal building.
Noon to 3pm, Saturday, December 7th, 2023,
Everyone is welcome. Please join us.
